The next step is for all of us to ask how we can support current efforts at CCSF to create safe and supportive spaces for our queer, immigrant, BIPOC, veteran, etc. students.

Same, i get asked if i have a nickname or someone comes up with a nick name on the spot and asks if they can call me Mike, or M and then get upset when i say no.

Agreed Guadalupe and we need to walk our talk in SF and at CCSF!

@Losaline, I'm sorry to hear this yet not surprised. Knowing that people continue to experience this makes me more determined to keep insisting on learning how to pronounce people's names the way they want.

@Micheline, I get it too a little, but mostly around my last name, though people do want to make nicknames for my first name (always Ana, which I don't like). Stay strong.
